Uncertain Times
During the past few days, major developments have unfolded in the Middle East. Across the world, war and conflict continue to reshape the global landscape. The recent escalation involving Iran, alongside tensions with the United States and Israel, has become one of the most significant news events of this moment.
At Incontext International, we are not a prophetic organization, and it is not our role to make predictions about future events. Interpreting unfolding global crises from a Christian perspective requires humility and caution. However, what we consistently ask is this:
- How do these events impact the Church?
- Who are the people behind the headlines?
- What are the losses, grief, and realities faced by believers and communities on the ground?
- How are missions affected?
- And where are the opportunities for the local and global Church to respond?
Christians in Iran and across the wider Middle East already face immense challenges in normal circumstances. A conflict of this scale intensifies their vulnerability. We can only begin to imagine the fear, uncertainty, and isolation many believers are experiencing right now.
For mission organizations, involvement in countries like Iran becomes practically and financially impossible during such times. This leaves local believers increasingly isolated from outside support. In moments like these, the global Church may feel powerless — yet we are not without response.
- We can pray.
- We can remain informed.
- We can discern opportunities to support our brothers and sisters — not only in Iran, but also in countries such as Ukraine, where war has already persisted for years.
As an organization focused on understanding world events and identifying opportunities for meaningful Church engagement, we want to call upon the Body of Christ: this is not a time to be passive bystanders. The Church must be prayerfully and practically involved.
In the coming week, we will release a more detailed article addressing the current developments in the Middle East and their implications for the Church.
Please pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will grant us wisdom and discernment to understand how we can faithfully support the global Church — especially in countries facing great need.
In Christ,
